Roy Dykes
Roy is an experienced and qualified financial planner and accountant.
After obtaining his B.Com degree at Otago University and his accounting qualifications Roy spent many years working as a commercial accountant and manager for a number of companies both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
After spending time in the late 1980's in the sharebroking and private banking sectors Roy decided he preferred assisting private clients with their financial affairs and since 1992 has specialised as a financial planner counselling clients with particular emphasis on those clients with family trusts and businesses.
During this period Roy qualified as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Justice of the Peace (JP), and in 2011 an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA).
Roy is married to Viv, a dietician, and they have two adult children – Nicola, a doctor and James, an accountant.
Community involvement, travel and sport have always been important considerations and these have resulted in Roy to belonging to many clubs and associations and school Boards of Trustees, often as chairman or treasurer. These together with his strong, longstanding Rotary involvement and his pursuit of motorcycling have provided many opportunities for him to be involved in the community and to travel.
